The Motivation to Love Yourself
Sometimes I think of six impossible things before breakfast. But not like Alice. My six impossible thoughts are usually about my body.
I’m too fat. My skin is so pale. My hair is overly frizzy. The bags under my eyes make me look like a raccoon. I wish I were taller. I wish I had a rounder face.
By the time breakfast is over I’m depressed and feeling insecure. But how could I not want to be a better version of me? Who doesn’t want to be a better version of themselves?
Being a better you isn’t a bad thing, unless your better version is impossible. There are things about ourselves that we can’t change; it’s who we are and what makes us different. And by obsessing over those things, we lose our happy.
I want to motivate you today to be a better version of yourself, but not physically, mentally. Choose to love your physical self today; every roll, every freckle, every frizz that gets bigger as the humidity rises. Every time you think something negative about yourself, follow it up with a positive!
Don’t like the number on your weight scale? So, what? Your hair and make up is on point today!
Be a better you by LOVING you. And just enjoy being happy with your life.
