The Choice to Change...Right Now

As we get older, we tend to look back and reflect on the way we have lived our lives...on the good things that happened and on the bad choices we made along the way as well. This is perfectly normal, and all of us, regardless of age, have these "reflective moments" now and then.

However, it might be more productive for us to focus on what's going on in our life right now...at this very moment...again on the good things, but, more importantly, on things that we need to change. If we need to be friendlier, we can start smiling more right now. If we need more exercise, we can start doing so today. If we need to lose weight, we can be more selective at our very next meal.

So, think about your life, identify something that you need to change for the better and make the choice to change it...right now. Not tomorrow, not this week...but right now. It is a choice that we make now that will become a part of our life in the future...and lead to happier "reflective moments" in the years ahead.

There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them. Denis Waitley
