The Choice to be the Leader of Your Life
Every successful business has effective leadership. The same is true of governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, medical facilities, farming operations and thousands of other operating groups. For the overall effort to be well coordinated and produce successful results, capable leadership must be present.
This important ingredient even extends to families where…the “stronger and better” the individual leaders of the family, the better the members of society they develop. Interestingly, this “facet of leadership” extends to us as individuals. We have lots of ideas, suggestions, information and influences that come in contact with our lives on a daily basis, but someone has to “call the shots” and make the choices that determine to what extent these external inputs will influence our lives.
The fact is that you are both the leader and the follower within your life. You decide what to do (as the leader) and whether or not to do it (as the follower). When the leader segment is weak or not functioning very well, the follower takes over in our life and we are prone to be directed by the desires and directions of others.
The point here is this…your life needs effective leadership from you. Having a successful life depends on how well you accept and perform this role of leadership within your own life. So, step to the front of your life, take charge of what you say and do, and be fully responsible for the way your life ultimately works out.
No question…good personal leadership leads to good choices and a good life.
“The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards
they set for themselves.”
